About this experience
I invite you to explore the beautiful and ancient Samarkand together! You will immerse yourself in the rich history of the city and learn a lot of interesting facts about the country's culture. I will reveal the symbolism of colors and styles of the national costume, why girls wear feathers on their headgear, and how Eastern weddings are held.
What to Expect
Colorful Samarkand
I will help you decrypt the past and present of the city. The excursion program includes:
- Gur-Emir Mausoleum - the burial place of the legendary Tamerlane and his male line descendants. You will hear legends and mystical details associated with him.
- Registan Square - the hallmark of Samarkand. I will tell you about the magnificent mosques and madrasas located on it.
- Bibi-Khanum Cathedral Mosque - once the largest mosque in the world. In its cozy and peaceful courtyard, I will share with you the romantic story of Tamerlane's wife.
- Shah-i-Zinda Memorial Complex - it is believed that the tomb of the companion of the Prophet Muhammad is located here. You will be transported centuries back and appreciate the richly decorated medieval mausoleums.
To add a little interactivity to the tour, I also suggest including the Carpet Factory and the factory for producing 'silk' paper in the program. You will not only observe the processes but also participate in them.
