About this experience
Samarkand is a legendary city on the Great Silk Road, the capital of Tamerlane's empire. We will visit the family mausoleum of the Timurids, immerse ourselves in the legends of the Bibi-Khanym Mosque, and stroll through the colorful streets of the Old City. And on the main square of Registan, a professional photographer will join us for an hour and conduct a vibrant and emotional photoshoot for you.
What to Expect
Highlights of Samarkand
You will visit the must-see places of the city:
Gur-Emir Mausoleum. The family mausoleum of the Timurid dynasty and one of the most beautiful monuments of the ancient city. I will decipher the features of its architecture.
Registan Square. The central square of Samarkand, where the proud minarets of three madrasas rise: Ulugbek, Sher-Dor, and Tilya-Kori. I will explain what madrasas are, why they were built, and what role they play nowadays.
Bibi-Khanym Mosque. The largest mosque in Central Asia, built in the distant 15th century. You will admire its majestic blue domes and learn to whom it is dedicated.
Professional Photoshoot
On Registan Square, a professional photographer will join us for 1 hour and conduct a full-fledged photoshoot against the backdrop of the enchanting Eastern architecture. He will help you feel comfortable and natural in front of the camera, choose the most effective and flattering angles. The result will be luxurious photos that will remind you of your journey.
Organizational Details
- A ticket for the photoshoot on the square and a professional photoshoot are included in the price. You will receive over 50 edited photos by email within 5 working days.
- At Registan Square, you have the option to rent national costumes for the photoshoot – $10-60
- Entrance tickets are paid separately. Their total cost is around $10 per person.
