Soulful and Sunny Samarkand: Transfer + Sightseeing Tour + Photoshoot
About this experience
Welcome to ancient Samarkand: the mausoleum of Timur and the fairy-tale Registan, the cathedral mosque of Bibi-Khanym, and the city panorama from the Khazrati-Khyzr mosque. You will haggle at the bazaar, count all shades of blue in the Shah-i-Zinda necropolis, unravel the mystery of the tomb of the prophet Daniel. And you will try pilaf! Meanwhile, we will take cool photos for you to add to your family collection.
What to Expect
We will organize a transfer for you with all the conveniences to Samarkand, where you will encounter the history of the ancient city and its key points. We will not only tell you about them, but also take photos at each location, which you will receive immediately after the tour.
You will indulge in fresh fruits and sweets at the city's main bazaar. And in the heart of pilaf, you will appreciate the work of local chefs and taste traditional Samarkand pilaf.
You will see:
- Gur-Emir Mausoleum - the great royal mausoleum where Timur is buried with his descendants and spiritual mentor. We will tell you about the reign, family, and legends associated with Timur's life.
- Registan Square, where all roads in Samarkand lead. Here are high minarets and medieval madrasas: Ulugbek, Sher-Dor, and Tilya-Kori.
- Bibi-Khanym Mosque - the largest mosque of the 15th century in all of Central Asia, the construction of which was overseen by Timur's beloved wife. You will learn about the features of its construction and admire it from the outside.
- Shah-i-Zinda Complex with its carved mosaics and blue domes
- Maqbarat of Holy Daniel - the mysterious tomb of the biblical prophet. We will tell you how representatives of three religious denominations pray here.
- Afrosiab Museum - we will visit the museum of the city's history. You will hear about what was here before and see the museum's treasures: a Sogdian fresco from the 6th century, ossuaries, coins, and much more.
