About this experience
Intricate patterns, blue domes, colorful streets - the splendor of Samarkand's patterns you will definitely want to remember forever. My photo walk will help you with that! In 5 hours, you will explore the Mausoleum of Tamerlane, Registan Square, Bibi-Khanym Mosque, Siab Bazaar, and Shah-i-Zinda Necropolis. You will receive both a guided tour with stories about the past and present of Uzbekistan and vibrant photos.
What to Expect
Main Highlights of Samarkand
About the native city and country, I will tell you from all sides: about the rich history (especially the era of Tamerlane), about the realities of modern life, industry, and everyday life. I will share traditions and legends. And the route will allow you to feel the contrasts of Samarkand and see its symbolic places:
- Gur-Emir Mausoleum. In the tomb of the great conqueror Timur (Tamerlane), we will talk about his personality, deeds, and legacy, as well as examine elements of an outstanding example of Persian architecture.
- Registan Square - the heart of Samarkand with an ensemble of three madrasas from the 15-17th centuries. You will learn how these eastern educational institutions were organized, who had the right to study in them, and how students spent their days. Here we will also visit the best souvenir shops in the city, and I will introduce you to the unique crafts of Uzbekistan.
- Bibi-Khanym Mosque - a grand monument of Timur's victorious Indian campaign. The mosque is named after the ruler's wife. You will hear the story of their love, admire the patterns and paintings. Nearby, we will visit the Siab Bazaar, where you can buy spices and dried fruits.
- Shah-i-Zinda Necropolis - a complex of female tombs, masterpieces of medieval architecture. Who were the people buried here? How was this 'kingdom' of blue shades created? All this will be covered in detail during the tour.

During the walk, I will take photos of you and shoot videos (which can be used for Reels, for example). I will find advantageous angles, help you relax in front of the camera, and suggest how to stand and where to look. Moreover, I can always help you with suitable outfits for fabulous shots.
