About this experience
I am pleased to invite you to an exciting walk through Old Riga, during which you will get acquainted with the history of the city and its famous architectural monuments.
Program
Many significant events took place in the territory of modern Old Riga, the importance of which extended beyond the city. Many of them are related to the influence of Christianity, which, as the main religious direction, also evolved into political decisions of past rulers.
When visiting the sacred monuments, you will encounter beautiful specimens of art from different eras, reflecting the talent of our ancestors. Behind each work of human hands lies faith, a history of inspiration, and a person's desire to touch what goes beyond his understanding.
During the excursion, you will get to know the most important and majestic religious monuments and shrines: the Cathedral, churches of St. Peter, St. John, St. Jacob, Our Lady of Sorrows, Anglican Church. You will learn interesting facts and legends from their history, as well as what else you can visit in their vicinity.
While visiting the Cathedral and the Cross Gallery, you can enjoy a piccolo organ concert (20 min.) by purchasing tickets in advance.
