About this experience
I invite you to a tour of the Old Town! The 'Old Lady' (as the locals lovingly call Old Riga) will captivate you with the unique charm of narrow streets, magnificent silhouettes of medieval churches, building details, the chorus of street musicians, and beautiful restaurants and cafes.
What to Expect
During a 2-hour walk, I will tell you about the history of Riga not only with facts but also with legends. We will stroll along the main cinematic street of the Old Town, which remembers great actors: Vyacheslav Tikhonov, Oleg Yefremov, Vitaly Solomin, and Vasily Livano. You will make a wish at the monument to the Bremen Town Musicians, admire St. Peter's Church, St. John's Church with stone masks of monks embedded in its walls, and the Cathedral of the Virgin Mary, commonly known as the Dome. By the way, this cathedral is one of the oldest sacred buildings of the Middle Ages in the Baltic States, St. John's Church with stone masks of monks embedded in its walls.
We will walk through the Town Hall Square and marvel at the splendidly decorated house of the Blackheads, the Palace of Peter I, the Courtyard of the Convent, and the oldest stone building in Riga. And these are far from the only attractions: you will also visit the Big and Small Guilds that united merchants and craftsmen of Riga, the Powder Tower, the house with cats, and much more.
You will not be indifferent to the roosters on Riga's temples, reminding of humility, faithfulness, and repentance; playful cats with raised tails on the roofs of houses; and the cunning Sorcerer-Witch from the legend of the untouchable beauty Riga...
