About this experience
An exciting journey awaits you to two proud beauties cities in picturesque countryside not far from Prague. They are often called the pearls on the Berounka River: royal castles - beautiful examples of medieval architecture that also hold many stories and secrets of great people, which you will learn about during the tour.
Program
- 900-year-old Krivoklat - a royal hunting lodge - holds the secrets of the love of the great Przemysl Ottokar II, the king of iron and gold. Emperor Charles IV of the Holy Roman Empire, as a child, captured by his father, spent his childhood here. Ferdinand Tyrolean hid his secret wife here. The famous English adventurer Edward Kelley was captured here. Ancient stones of the castle will tell you many things. The beauty of the surrounding forests, declared a UNESCO protected natural area in 1974, will charm everyone.
- Karlstein - creation of Charles IV of Luxembourg. A castle was built on top of Prince's Mountain for storing the Czech and imperial coronation regalia. In the unique Chapel of the Holy Cross were kept sacred relics, treasured by Charles IV throughout Europe - the shoulder of Saint Anne, the tooth of Saint John the Baptist, the sword of Charlemagne. A castle that has never been completely captured by an enemy. How is that possible? You will learn about this and much more on a tour, rare in beauty and historical significance.
