But you can discover the unique architecture of the Egyptian capital within the city limits, as Cairo is famous for its palaces. We will show you some of the most beautiful and important historical buildings, take you through throne halls, cozy inner courtyards, and shady gardens.
What to expect
Cairo, the capital of Egypt, is known for its magnificent palaces, which are witnesses to the rich history and cultural heritage of the city. Our program includes visits to the following sites:
- Mohammed Ali Palace - this architectural masterpiece is located inside the Saladin Citadel. Built in the 19th century, it served as the residence for the ruler of Egypt, Mohammed Ali. Today, the palace houses several museums where you will learn unexpected details from Egypt's history.
- Baron Empain Palace - a mystical castle built in 1911. This multi-level structure with domes of various shapes is adorned with sculptures of real and mystical animals. The palace is shrouded in extraordinary myths and legends - details will be shared by the tour guide!
- Abdeen Palace - one of Cairo's main attractions. Built in the 19th century, it served as a residence for various rulers of Egypt, including the pasha and King Farouk. Today, Abdeen Palace houses a rich collection of art and luxury items. You will walk through spacious halls, see reception rooms, dining rooms, and bedrooms. Then you will find yourself in a garden adorned with fountains and flower beds.
