About this experience
My tour is not a historical overview of Rome. It is an engaging and curious narrative about the lives of Romans and customs associated with urban places. You will learn how locals treat monuments and what traditions they cherish. You will see the tavern where Caravaggio caroused, Fellini's favorite street, and a flower bed that used to be a sarcophagus for burying nobles.
What to expect
During our walk, we will visit:
- The most charming and cozy street in Rome. Gregory Peck brought Audrey Hepburn here in 'Roman Holiday'. Federico Fellini lived here with his wife. Also located here is Pablo Picasso's Roman studio.
- The central Roman square with twin churches and the main gates into the city
- The square known as Spanish Steps, which has a direct connection to France
- Streets where prostitutes used to live, now home to 5-star hotels
- An Anglican church where you might meet Sharon Stone
- A street where horse races without riders used to take place
- A church where the patron saint of Italy rests
- A temple with a fake dome
- A church with Caravaggio's works, the workshop where he created, the tavern where he caroused
- One of the most beautiful squares in the world, where the founders of Roman Baroque, Francesco Borromini and Gian Lorenzo Bernini, engaged in a creative duel
