About this experience
During a stroll through the ancient streets of Lower and Upper Tallinn, I will share legends and interesting stories about the people connected with these places and the life of the city. You will learn why Old Tallinn was so divided, who lived in Lower and who in Upper Town, and understand why Tallinn is called the 'Knight' of the Baltic Sea.
What to expect
Stroll through the 'heart' of the Old Town
We will meet at Town Hall Square, where we will pay attention to the oldest operating pharmacy in Northern Europe. Then you will get acquainted with:
- the Niguliste Church and its masterpieces;
- the streets of 'Short Leg' and 'Long Leg';
- the Orthodox Alexander Nevsky Cathedral;
- the Cathedral of Saint Mary the Virgin – the resting place of famous generals and travelers;
- the Parliament House of Estonia.
From the viewing platforms, we will admire the fairytale tiled roofs and famous weather vanes of Lower Town, as well as explore the modern architecture of Tallinn and its business district - City.
