Revolutions and battles for freedom took place in many parts of Europe. However, in Hungary, these events deeply rooted in people's minds and became part of everyday life. Speaking of one of the national holidays, October 6, we will touch on facts and myths about Hungary, architecture of Budapest, and folklore. And for a sweet ending, you will be treated to a local dessert!
Why October 6?
For the residents of Hungary, this is not just one of the public holidays or the day of execution of the liberating generals, but a practically sacred date, around which special traditions have formed. I will tell you how the Memorial Day of the Arad Martyrs is reflected in Hungarian folklore and local rituals. I will also take you to the memorable places directly related to this date - we will walk in the vicinity of October 6 street.
What to expect
This tour will be interesting for those who not only want to discover unknown corners of Budapest, but also to look at the legendary places in a new way, touching the city's history. Along the route, you will encounter:
