This author's tour is designed to introduce you to the most iconic events in Hungarian history and the most vivid sights of Pest and Buda in just 3 hours. You will drive through luxurious squares, fashionable boulevards, and beautiful bridges over the Danube, admiring imperial architectural ensembles and majestic temples. Walk through the medieval streets of Buda, dispel myths about the Hungarians, and take in both parts of the city from the best panoramic points.
What to Expect
Key attractions of Budapest
The tour starts at Heroes' Square, where in a few minutes you will learn about the country's history and dispel with my help the entrenched stereotypes and myths about Hungarians and Hungary. Then you will see the brilliant Andrassy Avenue - the 'Champs Elysées' of Budapest - and the Hungarian State Opera House, which is among the top 10 most beautiful theaters in the world. We will drive through the central part of Budapest, where you will see the most beautiful synagogue in the world and the splendid St. Stephen's Basilica, dedicated to the first king of Hungary. And of course, we will not miss the pompous building of the Hungarian Parliament, another architectural masterpiece of the late 19th century. In the huge square in front of the parliament, you will examine monumental structures, understand the crucial events that took place here in the mid-20th century, and learn about the life of the Hungarians today.
Panoramic views of Buda and Pest
From the Pest viewpoint, you will enjoy an incredible view of the Buda side of the Hungarian capital. Like postcards, the city's landmarks will unfold before you - the Royal Palace, Fisherman's Bastion, Chain Bridge, and Margaret Bridge, the construction of which was designed by Gustave Eiffel. And then we will head to the Buda Castle to see almost all of Pest from the best viewpoint on the Buda hill. Moreover, here you will stroll through medieval streets, visit the Fisherman's Bastion, and admire the splendor of Matthias Church.
