What to Expect
Classic Istanbul
You will visit the most significant places in Istanbul, including:
- Topkapi Palace - the main palace of the Ottoman sultans until the mid-19th century. Explore the harem where concubines lived and learn about the lifestyle of that time. You will also see some of the most important relics of the Islamic world, such as the cloak and sword of the Prophet Muhammad.
- Roman Hippodrome - the central square of Istanbul. Learn about its history of chariot races, military parades, sports competitions, and the introduction of new emperors to the people throughout different times.
- Hagia Sophia - a symbol of the "golden age" of the Byzantine Empire. We will admire it from the outside and I will reveal its unusual history, explaining why it is associated with both Christianity and Islam.
- Blue Mosque - one of the most beautiful mosques in the world. Marvel at its six minarets and discover who ordered its construction and the precious stones used for its decoration.
- Basilica Cistern - an ancient underground water reservoir that will amaze you with its grand scale. Walk through its cool chambers, make a wish at the Medusa head columns and the nine-meter columns.
