You will hear the controversial history of Hagia Sophia, visit the magical Topkapi Palace, peek into the mysterious Harem, and admire the Basilica Cistern. Get to know the local cats and enjoy the views of the Bosphorus.
What to expect
Symbols of the great city
You will explore Istanbul's iconic landmarks: Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, and the Blue Mosque. I will tell you about Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent and his wife Roxelana, the 'golden age' of Byzantium, and the times when Istanbul was the capital of the Ottoman Empire. I will share the 'history of the 6 minarets' and reveal which important events our city witnessed. I will also show you the best photo spots and help you understand how Istanbul manages to blend ancient and modern spirit.
Topkapi Palace and Sultanahmet Square
On the central Sultanahmet Square, you will see the Egyptian Obelisk, German Fountain, and the Serpent Column. You will uncover the circumstances of their presence here and hear interesting facts about Constantinople. In Topkapi Palace, you will stroll through luxurious chambers, galleries, and a picturesque park overlooking the Bosphorus. I will talk about the TV series 'Magnificent Century,' the rise and fall of the Ottoman Empire, sultans, and their concubines. The tour will end at the famous Egyptian Market.

- Hagia Sophia - a mosque that combines elements of Orthodox and Muslim cultures and is also included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
- Topkapi Palace - the main palace of the Ottoman Empire, where 25 sultans lived and ruled.
- Roman Hippodrome (Sultanahmet Square) - the main square of Istanbul with preserved monuments of different civilizations.
- Blue Mosque - an outstanding masterpiece of Islamic and world architecture of the 17th century.
- Basilica Cistern - one of the largest and well-preserved ancient underground water reservoirs of Constantinople.

Additional expenses
- Entrance tickets to Topkapi Palace - 1500 lira per person. When visiting the Harem, the total tour time increases by approximately 40 minutes and is paid additionally +15€. On Tuesdays, the palace is closed, and instead, we visit the Suleymaniye Mosque.
- Entrance tickets to the Basilica Cistern - 600 lira per person, entrance tickets to Hagia Sophia - 25 euros per person.
- If desired, a visit to Topkapi Palace can be replaced with a visit to the Suleiman the Magnificent Mosque.
