You will spend the evening in one of Lisbon's authentic restaurants, surrounded by the sounds of fado - Portuguese romance and the brightest component of national culture. For locals, it is not just a musical genre, but a way to pour out their soul: in Portuguese, there is even a word "saudade", denoting a whole storm of feelings and emotions that intertwine in the sounds of fado. You will learn about the origins of Portuguese romance, its place in Lisbon's nightlife, and, of course, hear fado performed by the city's best fado singers.
Indulge in Portuguese Cuisine
You will not only immerse yourself in the culture of Portuguese romance, but also taste the best dishes of national cuisine. The dinner includes appetizers (tuna and sardine pates, Portuguese fried sausage), traditional caldo verde soup, restaurant's signature dishes - fish cataplana or Portuguese-style pork, which is cooked with small shells, dessert, and also excellent local wine. During the breaks, we will talk about the specifics of Portuguese cuisine and the features of preparing its "signature" dishes.
Organizational Details
- The cost of the tour includes the dishes from the dinner menu, but we want to warn you that traditionally in Portuguese restaurants, appetizers are placed on the table (bread, pâtés, butter, etc.), but this is not a complimentary from the restaurant and will be included in your bill. You can immediately refuse or not touch the appetizers, then you won't have to pay for them.
