About this experience
Portuguese people believe that their cuisine is one of the best in the world. It is not only delicious but also diverse. An incredible variety of fish, meat dishes, and snacks, and the number of Portuguese cheeses is as impressive as the French ones. And of course, all of this is accompanied by exquisite Portuguese wines! But isn't it better to try it once than hear about it 10 times?
What to Expect
We will stroll through the historic district of Lisbon and visit several locations:
- You will visit an ancient restaurant and meet its owner. You will try the famous Portuguese port wine and learn to distinguish Ruby from Tawny.
- Immerse yourself in the world of presunto (ham) and Portuguese cheeses. Rich, tangy sheep cheeses, delicate creamy ones, or mish-mash. Which cheese will become your favorite? And how can you resist the tender, melting presunto in your mouth? No way!
- Appreciate Pastel de Bacalhau - a cod dish. By the way, there are over 1000 ways to prepare this fish in the country! I will tell you how cod helped the Portuguese make geographical discoveries and create a colonial empire.
- You will taste the best ginjinha - cherry liqueur in town - in a shot bar where the locals go. And what about dessert? Fresh, aromatic Pastel de Nata straight from the oven will be our cherry on top.
