What to Expect
Juicy rice plantations, ancient temple, and meeting local monkeys
In the early morning, you will head to the Monkey Forest. Here you can observe the antics of these animals and even feed them! But be careful, the monkeys are wild animals, so it's better to leave all valuables in the car. Next, we will visit one of the 3 traditional Balinese temples of your choice: Pura Tirta Empul - an ancient Hindu temple of holy water (926 AD), Goa Gajah or 'Elephant Cave' - a UNESCO World Heritage Site (11th century AD), or Gunung Kawi - the ancient cave city known for royal tombs carved directly into the rocks (11th century AD). From the temple, we will head to the famous terraced rice fields of Tegallalang, known for their impressive 'photo points' and breathtaking views. You will be impressed by the multi-tiered bright green terraces that stretch high into the mountains. I will tell you about the history of rice cultivation in Bali and the unique Subak irrigation system. I will also show you the best photo spots!
Tropical swings and exotic lunch
Next on the agenda is lunch at a restaurant serving traditional Indonesian cuisine with a view of the vast jungles of Ubud. Nearby are swings where you can sway and enjoy the breathtaking landscape.
Swimming in a cascading waterfall and coffee plantations
After lunch, you will admire the waterfall in the jungles of Tegenungan and cool off in the waters of Kanto Lampo - a waterfall about 30 meters high. It consists of several cascading cascades spreading over the stones with a gentle flow. You will enjoy that bathing in it combines elements of a natural massage.
To wrap up the trip, we will visit coffee plantations and taste the popular Luwak coffee on the island.
