About this experience
This route will take you to the iconic postcard sights of Bali: you will descend into the mysterious mountain canyon to Tukad Cepung waterfall, appreciate the traditional architecture of the 8-tiered Kehen temple, enjoy the reflection of the volcano in Lake Batur, and admire the emerald green rice terraces. I will take you to the best panoramic viewpoints and, of course, tell you about Bali and the Balinese: about the local culture, diverse religion, superstitions, attitude towards nature, and lifestyle.
What to Expect
Fairytale Tukad Cepung Waterfall
Our first stop is the Tukad Cepung waterfall, which reaches a height of no more than 15 meters but is rightly considered one of the most picturesque and unusual places in Bali. The waterfall is hidden in a twilight canyon among the rocks: a narrow path running through the tropical forest and slippery rocks will lead you to a semi-open cave filled with the noise and glints of the water flow.
Pura Kehen - Beautiful Balinese Temple
Next, you will encounter one of the island's main symbols, the Pura Kehen temple. Eight terraces of the traditional architectural complex ascend the mountain slope - an impressive sight! In the inner courtyard, adorned with Chinese porcelain inserts, you will see a huge banyan tree, a signal kul kul drum, a three-tiered roof with intricate ornamentation, and altars dedicated to the main Hindu gods - Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva.
Lake at the Foot of the Volcano
Harmony and tranquility will capture you at the shore of Lake Batur, located at the foot of the volcano of the same name. You will relax by the mirror-like surface of Bali's largest lake and learn why the local residents revere this place as a sanctuary.
Coffee Plantations and Rice Terraces
You will see plantations growing cocoa, fruits, spices, and the world's best coffee, including the unique Luwak variety that we will definitely talk about. But the main postcard view of Bali awaits you in the village of Tegallalang - the rice terraces, a joint creation of nature and man. From the viewing platform, which offers a magnificent view of the terraces, you will enjoy the characteristic landscape of the island and take fantastic photos.
