About this experience
An hour on the ferry, and you are in a completely different world! Princes' Islands - a paradise where you will find pines, the Marble Sea, horse-drawn carriages, ancient temples, and clean air. I will tell you the story of this amazing place, show you its iconic spots, and make sure you remember our journey for a long time.
What to Expect
Walk around the Island of Istanbul
The main character of our mini trip will be the largest and most picturesque island of the archipelago - Buyukada. Prepare to enter an idyllic world with fragrant flowers, dense trees, old wooden mansions, friendly cats, and smiling grandmothers and grandfathers. Here you will see both beaches and rocky cliffs with a wonderful panoramic view of the sea. Also, here motorized transportation is prohibited - everyone moves on foot, in electric cars, or bicycles.
History and 'Landmarks' of the Islands
We will visit the Church of St. George, see the partially ruined Greek orphanage and the residence of Leon Trotsky, pass by numerous mansions along the cozy streets of the island. We will find ourselves at the highest point of Buyukada - and all of this will be captured in photos. You will also hear the most interesting facts about the Princes' Islands: who and when settled them, who currently lives on them, what is the lifestyle of the locals, and what future the government predicts for the islands.
