About this experience
Buyukada is a place where you will forget about noisy metropolises and modern technologies. There are no gasoline cars, rush, shopping centers, or crowds of people. But there is endless sea, bright sun, green hills, pines, cozy streets, wooden castles, and estates. I will help you not to miss the main things on the island, find all the iconic places and secret corners, and spend a fun and soulful day!
What to expect
Tranquil atmosphere of the island
From the first minutes, Buyukada will impress you with tranquility, silence, and clean sea air - there are no exhaust gases, locals move around on bicycles and electric cars. Everywhere there are pines, neat gingerbread houses, and the blue water surface. In a word, idyll! You will stroll along cozy picturesque streets, find colorful photogenic spots, taste delicious ice cream, and learn how local life has changed over the centuries.
Buyukada through the centuries
You will climb Mount Yorgi with the ancient Church of St. George at the top and hear the legends and superstitions associated with it. You will explore the former Greek orphanage - the largest wooden building in Europe - and find out why no one has lived in it since 1964. In addition, you will see the house of Trotsky, the tomb of Golitsyn, and enjoy the panorama of the island and the Asian coast of Istanbul from the best viewpoints.
