About this experience
I will help you choose bright kimonos or their summer variation - yukatas in a local salon. Then you will head to one of the most interesting districts of the capital - Asakusa - and enjoy its winding streets, picturesque garden, and Buddhist temple. Meanwhile, I will capture you in exotic outfits and share tips as a local!
What to Expect
Photo Shoot in National Costumes
First, we will visit a Japanese salon with a huge selection of kimonos and yukatas - a lightweight clothing option for summer. I will be your interpreter and advisor: help you choose the color scheme and select suitable accessories. The salon staff will help you dress in a national costume and do a simple hairstyle for women. Then we will head to the historic district of Asakusa for a photo session. I will capture you against the backdrop of ancient streets and houses, a Japanese park with a pond and carp, Kaminarimon Gate, Nakamise shopping street, and the famous Sensoji Temple.
Local Resident's Stories and Recommendations
I have been living in Japan for over 10 years and will gladly share insights about local life and how people live and work here. Additionally, you will learn about the types of kimonos, when modern Japanese wear them, who wears kimonos for coming of age ceremonies, how national clothing is passed down through generations, and I will help you pose like a local! Finally, I will provide valuable practical advice: where to go in your free time, where to buy souvenirs, and what else to visit in Japan.
