About this experience
Istanbul is not just Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and Topkapi Palace. I suggest you visit places where you won't see crowds of tourists. You will walk among the ruins of the ancient Yoros fortress, hear unusual facts about Saint Yusha's tomb, and taste fish delicacies in the picturesque village of Anadolu Kavagi. And I will take beautiful photos for you and share interesting stories!
What to Expect
Unexplored Istanbul
Giant tomb of Saint Yusha in the Asian part of the city is one of the most mysterious places in Istanbul. You will learn why it became a place of pilgrimage for Turkish Sufis, who is Joshua son of Nun and whether he was really buried here. You will also hear why some historians believe that the Evangelical Jerusalem is Constantinople and Golgotha is Mount Beykoz on the Bosphorus.
Time Travel
You will walk among the ruins of the ancient Yoros fortress and see the mighty gates and two towers that are 20 meters high. Also, enjoy the magnificent view of the confluence of the Bosphorus and the Black Sea and understand why no fire was lit in the fortress at night and what happened to it in the Antique, Byzantine, and Ottoman periods. Finally, we will stop by the cozy village of Anadolu Kavagi, where you can taste the freshest local fish at one of the restaurants.
