About this experience
Have you visited Istanbul several times, seen the main attractions, and walked through all the famous 'postcard' neighborhoods? Then this tour is for you! We will go to remote areas with no crowds of tourists. Immerse yourself in the rich history of the Genoese fortress, stroll through the cozy village of Anadolu Kavagi, and unravel the mysteries of the tomb of Saint Yushi.
What to Expect
Uncharted Istanbul
Get ready for breathtaking views, mystical stories, and ancient artifacts! The tour includes:
- Tomb of Saint Yushi — one of the most mysterious places in Istanbul. You will see unusual pilgrims, a tomb surrounded by an iron grille, and a gilded disc with Arabic inscription. What does it all mean, who is Yushi, and why do Turkish Sufis come to worship his remains? You will learn about this on the tour.
- Fishing village Anadolu Kavagi — a small quaint settlement located almost at the confluence of the Bosphorus and the Black Sea. You will observe the local way of life, different from the urban one, and taste delicious seafood in one of the cozy restaurants.
- Yoros Fortress — a well-preserved Genoese citadel. We will tell you how its significance has changed throughout history and what interesting events are related to it.
