About this experience
I invite you to a rich, comfortable and stunningly beautiful journey to the iconic and secret corners of Istanbul. Picturesque views, colorful fishing villages, monuments of ancient civilizations, non-touristic areas and a true immersion into local life are waiting for you!
What to expect
The Bosphorus from sea to sea
You will see the entire strait - from the Black to the Marmara Sea - cross from Europe to Asia on the Bosphorus Bridge and visit the picturesque district of Ortakoy. As you contemplate the gates of Istanbul, you will hear about Odysseus and his companions, the Symplegades rocks and the priestess who helped the Argonauts sail to Colchis for the Golden Fleece. Additionally, we will stop for a cup of Turkish coffee in a cozy place with a stunning view: in one window - the Bosphorus, in another - the lighthouse, in a third - the Black Sea.
Istanbul from the inside
I will show you the last surviving Byzantine fortress Yoros, tell you its interesting history and explain why pilgrims still visit it. Then we will visit a fishing village, where pirate schooners used to dock at the pier. You will observe local life and, if you wish, taste the freshest fish at a cafe overlooking the Bosphorus. Finally, we will head to the white mosque reflecting in the waters of the Bosphorus - Ortakoy.
