What to Expect
'Postcards' of the Grand Canal
You will embark on a journey along the famous Grand Canal and learn about the history of the most beautiful road in the world. I will show you an outstanding example of Venetian Renaissance - the Ca' d'Oro palace with its elegantly clad multicolored marble facade. You will learn why its owners always met a bad end and who owns the unlucky palace in our days. Explore the 15th-century Golden House, an excellent example of Venetian Gothic, and the legendary Rialto and Academy bridges. I will tell you where Emperor Paul I stayed and where Lord Byron began to write his poem 'Don Juan'.
Myths and Legends of Great Buildings
You will see a palace split in half, a dome without a church, and other unusual houses on the Grand Canal. I will share the secrets, legends, mysteries, intrigues, and passions of the Serenissima Republic, with which Venice began. I will also definitely tell the story of the magnificent palaces that we will pass. After all, it was from their courtyards that the most beautiful courtesans, famous poets, insightful rulers, prestigious guests - in short, everyone who made the 'city on water' legendary, appeared.
