What to expect
Noravank Monastery - medieval architecture and the legend of Master Momik
Noravank translates from Armenian as "new monastery". Located on the cliffs of a deep gorge, this architectural wonder was an administrative and spiritual center for local rulers in medieval Armenia. Today, it is one of the main treasures of medieval architecture.
You will learn about the architectural features that make Noravank unique. I will tell you the legend of Master Momik and his tragic love story. And standing on the cliff of the picturesque gorge, you will hear some details about the wildlife of the surrounding reserve.
If desired, after the monastery, we will have lunch at a hunting restaurant on the bank of a mountain river.
Tatev Monastery - excavations of scholars and the longest cable car
This austere monastery was built in the late 9th century. We will reach it via the
