About this experience
It is no secret that the nighttime illumination gives each city a special charm, and for eastern cities, this time of day is simply created to highlight their magical appearance and unique atmosphere. You will get acquainted with the masterpieces of medieval Muslim architecture in Hast Imam Square, learn about the architectural schools and traditions of decorative art of Uzbekistan, as well as the ancient manuscript stored here - the Osman Quran. You will walk through Amir Timur Square, where you will learn about the great military leader, drive along wide modern avenues, and visit memorial complexes that transmit universal human values.
What to Expect
The Soul of Tashkent - Old City
In focus will be the historical center - the stage where a fairytale Muslim architecture has been unfolding for centuries. At Hast Imam Square, I will talk about the main stylistic techniques of Islamic architecture and schools of Uzbekistan, historical mosques and minarets. You will learn about the technique of Eastern mosaic and intricate patterns, as well as about valuable relics, including the oldest preserved manuscript of the Quran! And you will hear about the ancient secular-religious educational traditions of Tashkent.
Milestones of History in the City's Memorials
Walking through the Old City, you will move to other quarters, where you will see soaring buildings, wide avenues, and houses from the past century. In Amir Timur Square, we will talk about the man who made the entire medieval world tremble and created the Timurid Empire, expanding possessions from India to modern Turkey. Moving further along the timeline, you will hear about the life of Tashkent in the 19-20th centuries, including the fateful inclusion of Uzbek khanates into the Russian Empire. On the impressive Independence Square, I will tell you what our country aspires to today. In addition, you will visit the memorial complex In Memory of the Victims of Repressions and the monument Courage - two monuments that convey such unshakable values as resilience and cohesion of the people in the saddest moments of its history.
