About this experience
The old city of Samarkand is beautiful at any time, but it is especially enchanting and mysterious as the evening approaches. You will see the most grandiose structures such as the mausoleum of Timur, Registan Square, Bibi-Khanym Mosque, Shah-i-Zinda necropolis, and uncover their secrets.
What to Expect
I have selected these places because I consider them the most interesting for an evening tour. You will enjoy the architecture of the ancient city without rush and crowds of tourists, as most groups explore the sights during the day. So, the program includes:
- Gur-e-Amir Mausoleum - a beautiful example of 14-15th-century architecture. I will tell you interesting facts about one of the most successful conquerors in history and show a vivid example of the architecture of that time.
- Registan Ensemble. The legendary architectural complex on the central city square will definitely not leave you indifferent. Here you can stroll for hours, enjoying its grandeur and beauty. In the evening, Registan is illuminated with pleasant lighting. If you're lucky, you will witness a light show that will give you goosebumps.
- Bibi-Khanym Mosque, striking with its size. You will learn when and in honor of whom it was built.
- Shah-i-Zinda Necropolis, also known as the "City of the Dead." This place deserves special attention for its architectural uniqueness, unprecedented beauty of majolica tiles, mysterious evening atmosphere, and for being located on the territory of Afrasiyab - an ancient settlement where most of the history of Samarkand took place.
Logistical Details
