About this experience
I invite you to travel to Ancient Egypt without leaving the center of Berlin! In the New Museum, you will see busts of pharaohs, priestly garments, fragments of walls with hieroglyphs and drawings, sarcophagi, and papyri. I will tell you in a lively language about ancient Egyptian traditions, religion, art, and daily life.
What to expect
Walking through the halls of the New Museum, you will learn:
- How the history of the mysterious queen Nefertiti unfolded
- What the Book of the Dead is, why it was written, and who had the right to it
- The significance of the scarab beetle for the Egyptians
- How the pharaohs and their wives lived
- Why mummification was necessary in ancient times and how it was carried out
And other interesting facts!
