What to Expect
Exploring Bukhara
You will visit all the iconic places of the city and learn interesting facts about them. The tour includes:
- Lyabi-Hauz Square - one of the most popular spots in Bukhara. Here you will see a picturesque artificial pond, a Sufi house, and two ancient madrasas: Kukeldash and Nodir Divan-Begi.
- Trade Domes - you will discover the times when Bukhara was on the Great Silk Road and was filled with eastern shops and bazaars. Centuries have passed, and only four trading domes from that era remain. You will definitely see them!
- Magoki-Attari Mosque - a magnificent monument of medieval architecture. This columnar-domed mosque from the 12-14 centuries is known for its carved decor. It is also located 4.5 meters below ground level. You will learn the story behind this on the tour.
- Architectural Ensemble of Poi-Kalyan - the hallmark of Bukhara. You will admire the grand Kalan Minaret in the center of the composition, as well as the mosque and madrasa facing each other.
- Ark Citadel - the oldest monument of the city. For several centuries, it served as the palace of the Bukhara rulers. I will tell you about the amazing events that took place here.
