About this experience
The tour will tell you how Munich became a city where the Nazis launched their inhuman propaganda and powerful war machine. How people, known for their intellect, allowed the saddest tragedy of the 20th century to unfold here.
What to expect
Our route will take us from Marienplatz to Königsplatz. We will visit the world-famous Hofbräuhaus - the birthplace of the Nazi party and see the hall where Hitler spoke. At Odeonsplatz, we will stop to learn about the 'Beer Hall Putsch' and centers of resistance by citizens. On Briennerstrasse, we will see the location of the main Gestapo building and the Brown House - the headquarters of the NSDAP with Hitler's private office. On the magnificent Königsplatz, we will see traces of the swastika on the building where the infamous 'Munich Pact' was signed.
The old town hall, memorials to the victims of the Third Reich, and much more. You will learn how Munich, almost completely destroyed by Allied bombings, rose from the ashes. I will also talk about the modern Germans' attitude towards the page of their history called the 'Third Reich'.
