What to Expect
Marienplatz - City's Landmark
If Bavaria starts with Munich, then Munich starts with Marienplatz, the main square of the city and the first point of our route. You will learn about the medieval fairs that took place here, significant events that occurred at this location. And, of course, you will examine in detail the architectural landmark of the square, the New Town Hall, appreciate the interior and exterior decoration of the neo-Gothic building, and peek into one of its courtyards.
City's Eras on Cathedral Facades
Through picturesque streets, you will approach the Munich Cathedral - Frauenkirche, which we will explore from the outside and inside, recalling the tales and legends of Bavaria. To imagine what Munich was like during the Renaissance, we will visit the Michaelkirche, which is located on one of Europe's first pedestrian streets. And in the oldest part of the city, you will visit the favorite parish church of Munich residents - St. Peter's Church.
Feel the Spirit of Munich
We will definitely visit the Viktualienmarkt - a beautiful Munich market where you can leisurely stroll, admire the fountains, and immerse yourself in the city's rhythm. From here, we will head towards the residence of the rulers of Bavaria along a medieval road, passing by the legendary beer restaurant Hofbräuhaus and 16th-century buildings. We will stop at the city model, where you will touch the history of the capital of the Duchy of Bavaria, then peek into the inner halls of the Augustinerbräu brewery, which has been brewing beer since 1328, and admire the stucco of Munich's prayer hall. The grand final chord of the walk will be the ensemble of Karlsplatz square.
