What to expect
Mysteries of fairytale houses
You will walk through the Old Town and visit two amazing quarters: Monti and Aia Piccola, where there are about 1400 traditional Trulli houses. I will tell you the amazing story of 'folk' architecture and share the traditions and customs that the townspeople zealously preserve to this day. I will also show you one of the most remarkable wonder-houses 'Casa d'Amore', reveal the secret of its romantic name, and explain why it has become a symbol of liberation from latifundists for the local residents.
The most famous Trulli and main churches of Alberobello
You will enter the church of Cosmas and Damian and learn about the history of the city's patron saints. In addition, you will see Trullo Antonio Paduano, visit a characteristic dwelling from the early 17th century, see the Trullo Twins and the Sovereign Trullo, the largest of all and the first to be made using mortar. You will be impressed by its paintings from the first half of the 19th century, a staircase carved directly into the thickness of the wall, and spacious rooms.
