About this experience
During this walking excursion, you will see and hear many interesting, entertaining, and curious facts about the city and its citizens. You will be greeted by a person who loves Liverpool and will help you get to know and love it too!
Liverpool is an amazing city! It has come a long way from a small village with 500 inhabitants, first mentioned in 1190, to a big city with a population of 1.5 million (prosperity from the slave trade allowed its growth and the city now retains more Georgian buildings than Bath). It faced decline in the 1980s, with the highest unemployment in the country, but has since been revitalized, being named the European Capital of Culture in 2008!
