What to expect
Exploring the Beatles' Liverpool
Modern British culture cannot be imagined without the songs of The Beatles - this iconic band will be our special focus. You will see the legendary Cavern Club on Mathew Street, where The Beatles performed, walk past Paul McCartney and George Harrison's school, John Lennon's art school, and the childhood homes of Ringo Starr. I will share interesting facts from the history of the Liverpool Four and take you to unusual places in Liverpool associated with the Beatles: you will see not only the members' homes but also Penny Lane street named after the famous song, St. Peter's Church where John and Paul first met, Eleanor Rigby's grave mentioned in 'Strawberry Fields Forever', and other corners of the city steeped in the spirit of rock and the music of The Beatles.
Liverpool's history on a walk through the city center
You will visit the main 'must-see' places of the city and explore the attractions of its historic part, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. I will tell you how the city developed and what makes the Three Graces stand out: the Baroque building of the Liverpool Port, the sleek Cunard and Royal Liver buildings - one of the world's first skyscrapers topped with the city's symbol, the Liver bird. You will hear the story of the famous football club 'Liverpool' and see Prince Charles' favorite Liverpool spots - the Town Hall and the magnificent St. George's Hall. If you wish, we can also visit Europe's largest Anglican cathedral - the Liverpool Cathedral with its towering Gothic arches and strict interior adorned with stone lace patterns.
