What to Expect
Famous and secret corners of Lagos
During the two-hour walk, I will tell you about the history of Lagos, show you its grand squares and hidden alleys. You will see the Governor's House, which survived the 1755 earthquake, the ancient fort remembering the pirate raids, and the Church of St. Anthony with its golden interior decoration. You will explore the Green House - the most famous building in Lagos, covered in green tiles from roof to basement. You will enjoy views of the city from the observation deck, choose a beach for yourself, sit on the ruins of an ancient city. Along the way, you will learn some very interesting facts from the history of Lagos and its modern life: how skillfully the great Vasco da Gama wove intrigues, why the Arab mosques, palaces, and sultan harems disappeared from the city, on which ships the heroes of the cult TV show 'Game of Thrones' sail the seas, and much more!

Of course, getting to know Lagos would not be complete without gastronomic discoveries. You will taste potato cake and find out where the best pastries in town are sold - pasteis de nata. Visit the fish market, where you can try and buy the freshest gifts of the sea. And at the end of the journey, you will savor the traditional dish cataplana - a mix of meat and seafood - at a secret tavern known only to locals.
