What to Expect
Getting to Know Porto in a Convenient Format
We will pick you up from your hotel in Lisbon and head north together to the colorful city that gave its name to the whole country. Along the way, you will immerse yourself in Porto's past, travel back to the golden times of Portugal, and understand how the city lives today. The introduction will start with the Clerigos Tower, where 240 steps will lead you to an observation deck — offering breathtaking views of the city. You will admire the showcases of the beautiful Lello Bookstore, famous in the universe of Harry Potter, explore the ruins of the medieval city wall, cross the intricate bridge built by Gustave Eiffel's student, and study the architectural ensemble of Liberty Square.
The Most Colorful Districts and Port Wine Tasting
On a walk along the bustling Santa Catarina Street, we will find the most beautiful traditional azulejo tiles, and in the Ribeira quarter, we will be charmed by the colorful facades and immerse ourselves in the relaxed life of the Portuguese. You will visit craft shops and 19th-century blooming gardens, enjoy the landscapes of the Douro River, and embark on a river cruise on a typical Portuguese boat that used to transport barrels of port wine from the wine valley to Porto. Of course, you will have a tasting of the country's iconic drink: you will try this "nectar of the gods" and "drink of true gentlemen" in a wine cellar in the satellite city of Porto, Vila Nova de Gaia, learn the secrets of port wine production and success.
