About this experience
Getting lost in the rich world of Chinese goods is easier than ever, so I have prepared an optimal shopping program for you. In one day, you will visit trusted stores and factories, learn about the history of China's cultural pillars - tea, silk, jade, pearls, porcelain. And you will be able to buy whatever you wish at favorable prices without worrying about the quality.
What to Expect
Tea Traditions
China - the birthplace of tea with a history of 4000-5000 years, where the number of cultivated varieties reaches 3000, and famous ceremonies are one of the most recognizable cultural brands in the world. The tour will start in a reputable tea house. You will hear the history of tea, learn how and for what purposes it is brewed, what shapes, colors, and flavors it has, and what properties it possesses. You will also be able to taste the drink for free and purchase your favorite.
Silk - the 'king of fabrics'
This material has been valued for its high strength, extraordinary smoothness, and 'expensive' luster since ancient times. Several centuries ago, only noble people could afford to wear silk. Now it is more accessible. Together, we will visit network stores where you can not only buy silk fabrics and items (scarves, robes, pajamas, quilts) at affordable prices but also learn about the production history, from raising silkworms to finished products.
Pearl Stop
The next stop is getting acquainted with the world of exquisite and miraculous pearls. You will learn about the properties of pearl cosmetics and the secrets of Empress Dowager Cixi, who managed to look 20 years younger than her age. You will also learn how natural pearls are extracted and their unique features. Here, you can buy products and a real cream made from this precious mineral.
Jade - the stone of kings
The next stop is a jade factory. In China, jade has always been considered a precious stone and held a special place. It was used to make seals for emperors, tableware, jewelry, and luxury items. Chinese people still believe that jade can protect health, prevent many diseases, and has luck-charged energy. You will hear the history of this stone, learn how it is processed, and what other beliefs are associated with it. Finally, you can admire jewelry made of the 'imperial stone.'
Porcelain Secret
'Whiter than white, thin as paper. Shiny as a mirror, sonorous as cymbals.' Thus admirers expressed their admiration for porcelain in Ancient China. You will learn about the history and technology of creating porcelain tableware in demonstration halls. And, of course, you can take a fragile piece of Chinese culture with you.
Chinese Market - Take What You Can
At the end of the tour, you will visit the favorite place of all shopaholics - the Chinese market. I will show you where you can buy quality furniture at low prices, and also accompany you to the market for souvenirs and clothing, where you can buy truly high-quality replicas of famous brands.
