About this experience
Get ready to discover the ancient city of Ostia Antica, which is preserved just as well as the famous Pompeii but without the tourist crowds. With my guidance, you will immerse yourself in the weekdays of Ancient Rome: ancient life will become clearer to you, iconic figures more human, and the millennia-old history more fascinating.
What to expect
Learn all about the life of ancient Romans
For a few hours, you will imagine yourself as a resident of ancient Ostia Antica: walk on the sidewalks polished by sandals and the floors of the wealthiest Roman colony, sit in the theater's parterre, learn about the peculiarities of the 'show business' of Ancient Rome, visit bars and taverns, study the menu and typical Roman diet, marvel at the engineering marvel of the baths, explore the barracks, laundries, and bakeries of the polis. We will visit the temples of Ostia Antica and recall the peculiarities of ancient beliefs. And in the houses of noble citizens, we will inspect the living rooms and walk on colorful marble mosaics.
Weaving antiquity and modernity
Ostia Antica will pleasantly surprise you with a peaceful atmosphere: unlike Pompeii, there is no oppressive feeling of catastrophe here, delicate shadows of pine trees gently fall on the ancient buildings, cozy cats rest on ancient columns, and on the stage, which was built over 2,000 years ago, performances are still occasionally held. In combination with the monumental layer of history, these details bring Ostia Antica to life and add charm to the city.

Hello! It was an amazing tour. A very cool guide. We spent a lot of time in Ostia. She told us a lot of interesting things. She could answer any question about the epoch. Next time, only with her.
