We will walk through the Upper and Lower Towns, and I will show you iconic places and the history of the capital. You will learn about the origin of the Estonians and Tallinn, about life, estates, and the harsh laws of the medieval city, about the strong connection between Russia and Estonia through famous historical figures.
Program
I will tell you:
- about the founding of Tallinn, who the Estonians are, where they came from;
- about the Hanseatic League and trade;
- about the features of the Upper and Lower Towns: about class differences, how the residents of both towns lived, dressed, and what their occupations were;
- about everyday life, punishments, medicine, laws, and rules of medieval Tallinn;
- about famous residents who connect Estonia and Russia (Kutuzov, Baltic Germans Krusenstern, Benckendorff, Tiesenhausen, and others);

- Then we will visit Danish King's Garden, stroll along the shortest street in Tallinn - Short Leg Street, descend to St. Nicholas' Church, and then head to Town Hall Square and the oldest operating medieval Town Hall Pharmacy in Europe.
- Our route will then lead to the Church of the Holy Spirit, and then to Pikk Street (Long). There we will get acquainted with the famous house once belonging to merchants from the Great Guild, the Brotherhood of Blackheads House.
- From there, our path will lead to the Dominican Monastery and through St. Catherine's Passage to the final point of our tour - Viru Gates.
