What to Expect
A Journey Through the Centuries
You will discover where the Czech capital originated, what difficulties the inhabitants of the Jewish ghetto faced, and why the residents of the Old and New Towns did not like each other. Explore several medieval churches, visit the miniature Franciscan Garden, and learn what lies behind the walls of the Pinkas Synagogue in the former Jewish Quarter. If you are lucky, you will hear the chime of the legendary Prague Astronomical Clock, and on the Small Square, I will show you where water was sourced in the Middle Ages and explain why working as a messenger was a very tough job back in those times.
The KGB and Other Secrets of Prague
At the Wenceslas Square, we will talk about the building that housed the headquarters of the Committee for State Security and the place where criminals were executed. Near the two monuments of Saint Wenceslas on horseback, we will discuss the mysterious disappearance of the third horse. On the Yungmann Square, I will tell you about Czechia's connection to Russian thieves' cant, and on the Republic Square, we will delve into the similarities between the famous Powder Tower and the wandering artists. The walk will end near the Charles Bridge, where you can make your secret wish.
