About this experience
Prague can be incredibly diverse - a city of medieval knights, a haven for emigrants, and a place for ideal romantic walks. You will see the most important architectural monuments of the Czech capital, but I will not overwhelm you with dates and facts. Instead, I will tell you the most interesting stories about events that once took place in Prague in different eras right in the heart of the city, in the most iconic locations. This walk through Prague will be remembered by you as a small journey into the past, where ordinary people lived, wandering through the same cobblestone streets, and from that moment on, you will feel yourself in the city completely differently.
What to Expect
Stories instead of dry facts
You will visit the heart of Prague - Wenceslas Square and Prague Castle, walk along Iron Street, admire the Rudolfinum Philharmonic building and the view of Charles Bridge. Of course, we will talk about the history of the Czech capital in different eras and, for example, about the specifics of Czech Art Nouveau. But the highlight of the tour will be the intriguing events and hidden meanings and symbols in the city's architecture that you will definitely learn about. Why did the construction of Charles Bridge begin at six in the morning and where was the first brick laid, what happened in the city when a German soldier confused two great composers, and how to detect one of the first examples of corruption in the urban landscape? The history of Prague is full of curious details, and I will gladly introduce you to them.
Interesting Places
I will show you different facets of Prague: medieval, romantic, full of hidden secrets. You will walk through poetic places and learn how to tell time by astronomical clocks (and will it always be the same). You will see a stretch of the Vltava River embankment hidden between houses, where you can feed swans and spend time in complete seclusion with your significant other. I will tell you where to try the most delicious beer brewed for 400 years, and where to go for dinner in the company of locals right in the city center, so you can continue your stroll afterwards. The views of Prague, which are beautiful in any season, will enchant you as all mysterious things do.
Organizational Details
I will personally lead the tour for you, or my partner Svetlana, who is also a connoisseur of Prague's history and secrets.
