What to Expect

Our first destination is Devin Castle on the outskirts of Bratislava, whose walls remember Moravian rulers, Ottoman invaders, and Napoleon. Even before our era, a Celtic city sprawled here, and later the fortress was inscribed in the history of Great Moravia - the first Slavic state. I will tell you the key points about all the epochs of Devin, its defensive role, and the destruction of the fortress. Devin will impress you with its wonderful landscapes - the castle is surrounded by the Little Carpathians, above the confluence of the Danube and Morava rivers. And here you can also taste local traditional wine made from red and black currants.

You will visit the heart of the Slovak capital and a place visible from any point in the city. I will introduce you to the main pages of the thousand-year 'biography' of Bratislava Castle and its architectural features - the castle combines late Gothic, classical Baroque, and Renaissance styles. Next to the castle, you will admire the surroundings - the Danube, the old and new parts of Bratislava.

Slavin - a meeting place of sadness and joy
In the third part of the tour, we will once again find ourselves on a high hill. Here you will touch upon the tragic history of the country during World War II: Slavin is a memorial complex created on the site where soldiers who died during the city's liberation are buried. And here you will see the most extraordinary panorama of Bratislava as if in the palm of your hand.
