About this experience
Bratislava has an unusual geographical location: it borders both Austria and Hungary at the same time. This determined the fate of the city - bright and complex, it will impress history lovers. I will show you the most interesting places of the capital: Bratislava Castle, Franciscan Church, Archbishop's Palace. You will stroll through the medieval streets of the Old Town and receive recommendations on where to taste Slovak dishes. Immersing yourself in Bratislava's past and getting to know its modern face - during the 5-hour trip, you will learn what the youngest capital of Europe is like.
What to expect
City history and a walk in the old district
From the most famous castle to religious buildings - you will see everything that is worthy of a traveler's attention. Bratislava Castle will impress you with its monumentality and interesting details of life. I will tell you about the period when the castle flourished and who lived here at different times. I will share facts from the 'biography' of the Franciscan Church - when and by whom it was built, what tragedies it endured. You will touch the history of the Archbishop's Palace and the Old Town Hall, understand the uniqueness of the Michael's Gate, and hear about the fate of the city's most famous monument dedicated to a plumber. You will walk through Bratislava's main square - in the past the center of market trade, and then follow the paths of the Hungarian monarchs: Michalska Street was once part of the coronation route.
Everything about everything
Of course, facts and legends will surround you even at the approach to Slovakia. Leaving Vienna, you will enjoy the views of eastern Austria and learn everything about two countries that interests you. Additionally, in Bratislava you will be able to try authentic Slovak dishes and choose souvenirs for your friends. On the way back to Vienna, we will discuss the similarities and differences between the two capitals, and I will gladly answer any questions about magnificent Vienna and cozy Bratislava.
