About this experience
You will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the history of Devin Castle, which is rightfully considered a true symbol of Slovakia. I will tell you about the tragic and heroic events remembered by the castle ruins, share local legends, and interesting facts about these places. Here you will touch the stones that remember mammoths and knights, feel the medieval charm, admire the wonderful landscapes, and the confluence of the Danube and Morava rivers.
What to expect
History frozen in stone
You will immerse yourself in the various epochs of Devin Castle, as this place has come a long way from a Stone Age settlement to a landmark of Bratislava. Once there was a Roman watchtower here, then the Great Moravian castle, a crucial point for Prince Savoy in the battle against the Ottoman army. Later, Devin Castle served as the European border between the 'socialist' and 'capitalist' worlds, through which peaceful residents tried to escape multiple times. During the excursion, you will touch the stones that remember mammoths, learn about the key events from the history and life of the castle, hear local legends, and even throw water into the deepest well.
Breathtaking landscapes and panoramas
Travelers from all over the world come to Devin Castle not only to touch the history of Slovakia but also to stroll around the fortress ruins, enjoying the rocky landscapes and the mesmerizing view of the confluence of the Morava and Danube rivers!
