About this experience
Legendary city, one of the most popular on the planet - Venice! How to understand it and feel its true spirit when there are incredible amounts of tourists here? I will answer: peek into the neighborhoods where locals live and immerse yourself in true Venetian life! I will guide you through non-touristic labyrinth of the city, and then show you the center. With great love for Venice, I will share stories about it.
What to Expect
Discover Venice from the Inside
Leaving behind the noisy tourist streets, we will wander through authentic Venetian quarters. On their streets, you will hear an emotional story from the city's foundation to our days - traditions, legends, way of life, secrets known only to Venetians. I will tell you how and why the city was built on water, how Venetians live with constant tides. About gondolas and gondoliers, about the carnival, about the ancient art of Murano glassblowers (and if we are lucky, we will visit the workshop of one of them). You will learn why the first Jewish ghetto appeared in Venice, see the most elegant church and the only surviving bridge without railings. My stories are accompanied by interesting photos on the tablet.
Experience the Real Life
Leaving the Cannaregio district, we will cross the Grand Canal on a gondola-ferry, as Venetians have been doing for centuries, and find ourselves at the central Rialto market. Here, almost every day before lunch, you can see the full variety of local seafood. From here, you will admire the treasure of Venetian Gothic - the Golden Palace. You will learn about the functioning of the city's commercial heart, see the very first church of Venice, and hear why in medieval Venice, brothels and taverns were common. And of course, I will reveal the secrets of the construction and stability of the Rialto bridge, which we will cross.
