About this experience
The building of the Opera and Ballet Theater on Freedom Square hides many mysteries: several underground floors, a huge freight elevator, decorations for famous plays, luxurious halls, and a real organ. One of the artistic directors and conductors will guide us backstage, tell us about the history of the theater, and play the piano.
What to expect
Our immersion into the history of the Opera and Ballet Theater will begin with a lecture on the history of the building in a luxurious room for meeting VIPs. Then the doors will open - and you will see the large theater hall, behind which there are many more rooms. You will learn:
- about the history of the opera theater, how it was originally designed, and why it became what it is
- what was on the site of the opera house
- how the five-ton chandelier is lowered for replacing light bulbs and cleaning
- where the 6-meter elevator leads
- what the large room on the 7th floor hides
- and much more!
Organizational details
Some rooms are dusty, particularly the organ.
