About this experience
Welcome to the island often called the Pearl of the Ionian Sea. On this tour, you will understand why Corfu has earned this title - from two viewpoints you'll admire its panoramas, visit the beautiful museum 'Casa Parlante', and the church of Saint Spyridon in Kerkyra. You will see the unusual Mouse Island and the bays of the resort of Paleokastritsa. And I will definitely tell you about the history of every corner of the island, its flora, fauna, religion, and way of life.
What to Expect
Casa Parlante Museum
A beautiful museum revealing the life, traditions, culture, and customs of the island's aristocracy. It's like visiting a Greek family's home. The museum is filled with moving wax figures harmoniously integrated into the house's interior. You'll immerse yourself in the 19th-century era, the period of English rule over the island. It will be intriguing to step back in time.
Postcard-Worthy Corfu
You'll enjoy one of the most famous landscapes of Corfu: here, in the old town of Kanoni, you'll have a view of the white Vlacherna Monastery, the secluded Pontikonisi island, and the airport runway in the middle of the sea. You'll also visit the most beautiful area of the island - Paleokastritsa: on this picturesque cape with high cliffs, the waters of the Ionian and Adriatic seas blend. It was here that the daughter of King Alcinous, the beautiful Nausicaa, found Odysseus.
Saint Spyridon Church and Monastery of Paleokastritsa
Throughout the trip, I will not only tell you about the history and geography of the island but also about the local religion. In the capital city, Kerkyra, you will visit the Saint Spyridon Church, whose bell tower rises in the city center, and the interior decor delights with its magnificence. You'll learn why the locals hold this saint in such high regard and consider him the protector of Corfu. Additionally, you will visit the Monastery of Paleokastritsa - this place will reveal the best views of Corfu to you again.
Life on Corfu
During this journey, I will talk a lot about the ancient and modern life of the Greek islanders, about their way of life and Greek cuisine. You will get to know it at the end of the tour in the village of Makrades. In this authentic village, you will not only taste locally produced olive oil, jam, and olives but also visit shops selling natural cosmetics made by a Greek family.
