About this experience
This tour will help you get a detailed understanding of Mykonos. It consists of two parts: the first 2 hours will be devoted to a trip to two picturesque coves and the Monastery of Panagia Tourliani, and the second part will be a walk through the labyrinth of Chora, the island's capital. You will learn mystical stories about these places and understand why celebrities from around the world love to visit here.
What to Expect
Exploring Mykonos by Car
We will meet at the Old Port and head to the village of Ano Mera, stopping along the way at scenic viewpoints with mesmerizing sea panoramas and views of Chora. We will visit the monastery where the icon of Panagia Tourliani is kept, protecting Mykonos. I will tell you its mystical story. We will definitely make a stop at the runway. I will show you where airplanes take off and land almost within arm's reach!
We will enjoy the view of Super Paradise Beach from a hill and, if you wish, descend to this bay. Then we will head to Chora, but make another stop in a picturesque spot. You will see the azure cove with docked ships and take memorable photos. Along the way, you will hear fascinating stories about Mykonos: its history, modern revival, and differences from other Greek islands. I will also give you useful travel tips and gladly talk about the character and traditions of the Greeks.
Walking through Chora
This is where the most iconic corners of the island are concentrated. Chora is a network of narrow streets, white and blooming, but intricate. Exploring these labyrinths, travelers often lose track of time, walking around the same place. With me, you will avoid this, follow a well-thought-out route, and see all the famous landmarks. We will explore the cozy center, find the Church of Paraportiani, admire the Windmills, a symbol of Mykonos, and enjoy Greek coffee in the neighborhood of Little Venice.
Logistical Details
- An additional fee of €100 will be charged for a 2-hour car rental and transfer to the meeting point (if needed)
- The tour is conducted in a modern comfortable Mercedes Vito or Peugeot Traveller. A booster seat for children is available upon request.
- Cold water is always available in the car. However, I still recommend bringing a bottle with you for the walking tour.
