You can immerse yourself in the colorful Georgia in different ways: stroll through the streets of Tbilisi and peek into cozy courtyards where dominoes are played; travel to Kakheti for a culinary experience; head to the mighty Mount Kazbek via the legendary Military-Georgian road; listen to the magnificent Georgian polyphony. But perhaps it is in the folk dances that the character and spirit of our people manifest with special power. The best way to get acquainted with the national culture is not just to be an observer, but to actively participate in an exciting master class. It will be fun, dynamic, and informative! I am waiting for you!
What to Expect
Presentation, wine, and master class
I will meet you at the hotel and take you to a dance studio where I have been practicing Georgian dances for many years. Before the rehearsal, you will watch an interesting presentation about the dance art of Georgia, which originated in this land in ancient times. A table will be set for you - all according to the rules of Georgian hospitality: homemade wine, fruits, and sweets. And then - you will start mastering the basic movements of the two most popular dances: Acharuli (from Adjara) and Rachuli (from Racha). You will be guided by a professional choreographer - a former dancer of the Sukhishvilebi ensemble. During the process, you will learn the men's part, expressing agility and courage, and the women's part - smooth and graceful. In the end, you will perform two completed dances, which will be recorded on video and later sent to you by email, so that this piece of your journey remains with you forever!
Who Can Attend the Master Class
People of any skill level - children from 6 years old can participate in the rehearsal.
Organizational Details
- I will meet you in the center of Tbilisi, transfer from more distant areas is discussed upon booking
- You should have comfortable clothing and footwear with thin soles. Preferably black - to make the video more effective.
- Rental of national costumes is not included in the cost of the excursion and is paid separately
- Upon request, we can organize a photo session in national costumes, details can be clarified in correspondence
- For an additional fee, we can go to the city after the lesson, organize a dance flash mob in national costumes, and record it on video
- Please contact the guide before booking to separately agree on the time and day of the master class
